SISTER'S MISSION CONFERENCE IN THE OKLAHOMA TULSA MISSION

It was my privilege to attend this meeting here in OTM.  All of the sisters in the mission came at noon on Friday and left their things at the Mission Home.

I love this stairway as you enter the front door
 of the mission home.

Then they all proceeded to the food pantry where they packaged noodles and boxed them for the shelf.  They worked hard from 1pm to 5pm and had lots of fun getting better acquainted with each other, sharing missionary experiences and exchanging ideas while packaging.

This is a wonderfully large kitchen in the mission home
which is very handy to cook in for large groups of people
that like food as most missionaries do.

Sister Shumway with a few of the sister missionaries
in the kitchen.   The sisters are having
strawberry lemonade pie for dessert.

Elder Francom and I had other missionary things to do during the day but I was able to join them with Sister Barker ( who is the secretary for all the apartments that are rented for the missionaries) at 5:15 pm as they were scurrying to put the last touches on the dinner and set the table.  Sister Shumway had them all organized with assignments and they were enjoying doing it with each other.  After dinner when everything was cleared away, we all gathered in the large living room for a Sister's Fireside

This is Elder Francom enjoying the large living room
when we were staying at the mission home
several weeks ago.  This is how it normally looks.

Chairs placed in rows made it possible
for all of us to fit into the living room

Having this sister's conference has helped me feel more grateful for my daughters who each have sisters.  They are not alone  and can help each other and enjoy each other.  I am very grateful for my own 3 sisters.  We are each unique and can help each other when needed and also have times of enjoying one another.  it is  sad that I don't have a picture of all of them with me here in the mission.  But here is one of my twin sister, Rae and I with my daughter, Amy, taken at our son Steven's, wedding three years ago.

Below are my daughters, Laurel,  Shannen and Amy.  Aren't they
beautiful? ---almost as beautiful as their mother (he, he,)
This picture was taken 13 years ago at our son Jonathan's wedding

Below, The Sisters mingling in the large living room just prior to starting the evening.  The Sister in pink standing in front of the fireplace is Sister Barker.  She is the missionary over housing and  found the apartment for us.  She finds the housing that is needed for the missionaries and then makes regular inspections to make sure they are taken care of.  Her husband is in charge of fixing the vehicles in the mission and has to do regular inspections on them to make sure they are in good order.  They are both very busy missionaries

President Shumway states that he loves the Elders but he loves the sisters more!
The Fireside that he and Sister Shumway did was awesome!
