Mission assignments

The first few days of our mission have been
getting acquainted with our assignments and
stocking the apartment. These are pictures of
the apartment which we really appreciate.

As you saw in the earlier blog, we live in a beautiful gated complex where we feel safe.

Dan McClellan The only full time LDS Family therapist for 4 states
Emily Thomas part time therapist

Part of my assignment is working with the LDS Family service office and part of my
time helping the missionaries serve the ward by visiting less actives and part member families.

With LDS Family Services I will be traveling throughout the mission visiting Addiction recovery and family support groups. I will also be training priesthood and relief society leadership in building and using mental health resources within their own communities because there is only one therapist in the office to cover parts of 4 states. We will be traveling alot. One of the great blessings we have had so far is meeting with around 50 missionaries in their zone conferences
throughout the mission and I am so impressed with their maturity and spirituality. They are such an inspiration for the members.

Your apartment looks nice, and it looks like you are in a nice community as well. I'll bet that Dan is happy to get some help since he is the only full time therapist for four states, that is a large area for one person! This is really fun seeing pictures and reading about your adventures, thanks for sharing your blog with us.
